Got a special place in my heart for the music OnCue offers so I gotta try extra hard not to let those personal feelings interfere with my coverage of his releases. But, then again, I’m the one writing this shit so why not let the emotions I’m feeling saturate the coverage? You see, this man has been through it. And the way he lets that raw, unadulterated passion and experience fuel his music is nothing short of uplifting and inspiring. The music sounds dope, but the way you feel what he’s expressing? That’s what takes each new release and lifts it to a higher level.
“Leap of Faith” is the latest drop from Cuey in a string of new releases since the start of 2020 and it keeps the momentum rolling.
Like a page from his diary, “Leap of Faith” allows the listener into the head and heart space of the enigmatic artist. From the start of the song all the way through the end, you’ll get a very real sense of just how therapeutic music is and has been for OnCue. It’s allowing him a means of getting shit off his chest, of maneuvering through all of the highs and lows, and keeping his head above the surface. No matter how hard life gets, no matter what gets thrown at him, he’s got an outlet. And it’s honestly a beautiful thing to witness, each new track like a moment in time from OnCue.
Daps and pounds to Turbz and Brenton Duvall for lacing “Leap of Faith” with some anthemic production. It bounces and rolls along wonderfully as Cuey fills the sonic space with his latest lyrical purge.
“Leap of Faith” is available now on all your favorite streaming platforms.
