Sometimes in life it’s important to take a step back and reflect on all the experiences – little and big – that have made up one’s journey thus far. In doing so, we’re able to recognize all we’ve persevered through, as well as appreciate the personal growth that has taken place along the way. With “Inner Wealth,” Boston-bred and LA-based Kyle Bent composes a reflective and celebratory ode to self as he looks back on the pieces of his saga here in the physical that have lead him to this current moment in time.
Delivering his prose with a smooth and infectious flow over Saru Beatz’ anthemic production, Bent shines light on the invaluable power of hard work and self-determination. As his work ethic couples with his vision, and his goals continue to manifest, Bent becomes more aware of exactly how far he’s come while never losing sight of what still lies ahead. “Inner Wealth” pays tribute to the work he’s carried out internally and the ways in which getting right within has opened his external world to new blessings.
The inspiring, reflective nature of “Inner Wealth” is juxtaposed with the Oscar Gomez-filmed visual, which carries a darker energy than the track itself. Together, the video and audio work to tell the complete story – doing the work, especially the work on self, is not all sunshine and rainbows. We’ve got to travel to, sit with and experience the darkness in order to bring the light into our lives. It’s the hardest work to do, but nobody else can or will do it for you.
“Inner Wealth” is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.
